The crew at Gold Coast based mid-tier construction firm, Condev Constructions, sure know how to kick-start their weekend.
Over a dozen Condev staff and associates turned out for a social ride with long-time friend, international cycling star Robbie McEwen, at 6.30am Saturday morning.
The ‘Ride with Robbie’ is an annual tradition with the Tour de France sprint champion and his mates at Condev.
This year’s ride saw the pack travel 90km from Robbie’s Piccolo café at Nobby Beach south to the Salt village in northern NSW and back again in just over three hours.
Condev director’s Tracy and Steve Marais are avid cyclists, and the ride provided a warm-up for their tilt at the 160km Lake Taupo Challenge in New Zealand this weekend.
Steve Marais says cycling is a large part of the Condev culture and a great way to keep fit and experience some of the best scenery in the world.
“It’s a fantastic way to socialise with staff and associates and even better to be able to ride alongside a world champion like Robbie,” Steve says.
The finish line on this occasion was Robbie’s newly acquired café with celebratory café lattes all round.
