Condev Developments is doing it again. Currently with its next three industrial developments under construction by its associated company Condev Construction, the development company is set to build on its reputation for consistently delivering a quality product to end users.
Condev Construction under the management of Steve Marais has been trading for three and a half years, commencing with architecturally-detailed upmarket residential constructions and expanding into commercial and industrial constructions within 100km radius of its head office on the Gold Coast.
Within a year of its inception, Condev Construction offered investment opportunities to interested parties outside of the business to contribute share capital to industrial developments. The first two projects were fully subscribed at the first meeting, and these recently completed projects yielded returns well in excess of budgeted profits. Investors were ecstatic, and Condev Construction, seeing opportunity to bring people together in development successfully, formed Condev Developments under the management of Tracy Marais
Condev is also passionate about cycling. Robbie McEwen, Australia’s 2005 Cyclist of the Year, and third time winner of the green jersey in this year’s Tour de France, has recently become a director and shareholder of Condev Developments. Robbie has been instrumental in facilitating a 2,000m2 industrial co-development between Condev Developments and Lindores Cranes. Bryce Lindores, blinded two years ago in an accident, and also a cycling enthusiast, having recently come third in the 2006 IPC Cycling World Champs in Switzerland in September in the Blind and Visually Impaired track event, has been supported and mentored by Robbie. Mike Griffen, the third shareholder and director of Condev Developments and a silver and bronze medallist in the Australian Cycling age championships and Queensland Cycling age champion five consecutive years, helped Sara Carrigan, Athens 2004 Olympic champion, in her early days.
Tracy Marais says, “Condev Developments facilitates co-development opportunities structured in low-risk, independent but related business entities, allowing interested parties relatively secure investment opportunities with excellent returns on their capital in building activities which they would not otherwise have the skills, the time or the confidence to take on independently.” Management at Condev say it makes them feel good to know that people in unrelated industries are making money because of Condev’s expertise and commitment to giving of their best.
Condev Developments has multi-unit industrial developments of varying sizes in Casua Drive, Varsity Lakes, due for completion in February, another in Hutchinson Street, Burleigh Heads, due for completion in March, and a third in Township Drive in West Burleigh, due for completion in April. The 2,000m2 industrial unit in Casua Drive being developed together with the Lindores is for a single end user and a presale is preferred. Construction is expected to start in March.
Condev Construction is presently designing its own cycle outfit. Many of Condev's suppliers and sub-contractors will be co-sponsoring the suit which will be available from Condev.
Condev Construction has several interesting constructions on the go at the moment, Madison on Riverwalk in the $120 million Riverwalk precinct for Robina Land Corporation, and is planning to demolish before Christmas the landmark Castle in Tugun, formerly a comedy theatre restaurant, to construct a multi-million-dollar medical centre in its place. “Condev puts its success down to its management philosophy, commitment to its work ethic, and the quality of the people it employs”, says Steve Marais.
